How do I play on multiple computers in one house?
Hi, It has probably been addressed, I just don't know what to search for.
I have multiple games in my account and two growing boys who are now driving me away from my computer so they can access steam. Can I use my one account on multiple computers in the same house.....I haven't found a way. I probably have to set up another account and buy games for that account so we can play on steam at the same time? A bit of a waste seeing that I have about 150 titles in my own account already.

If it's the only way I'll oblige and set up another account and buy some games twice. Can't have the boys make me go into withdrawal too often :-)

Yes, but not at the same time. All games have only a single user license.
The best way would be getting an account for each of your boys and buying them their own copies. May be more expensive, but if they move out, they can take their accounts with them, less problems later.

wait for deals on the games you need extra.

you can keep track and see price history for any game here.

and get an email when it is on sale in your favorite shops.

not what you wanted to hear but the best way less hassle.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yep, I'll set up their own accounts and buy them their own copies.

Now I have another problem. Setting up another user account just adds another user to my existing account. That means that the boys and I can't play different games at the same time.

If I try to download another steam it just wants to replace the current steam download.

I need two or even three completely different accounts, one for me and one for each of my sons. Then I can happily buy them their own copies of games and we can all play at the same time.

How do I set up different accounts , not just different users, on the same computer.....yes we bounce around between computers. They use my more powerful PC at home while I'm at work, but I still use my laptop at work to play sandbox games that I can leave and come back to at random as I leave it open on the laptop.

So....How do I set up complete different steam accounts on one PC and not just different users on the same account?

Appreciate your help and patience
