Unable to connect to the Steam network. 'Offline mode' is unavailable...HELP PLEASE!
Unable to connect to the Steam network. 'Offline mode' is unavailable because there is no Steam login information stored on this computer. I reinstalled Steam because whenever I tried to login, it would say 'unable to connect to the Steam network'. I have no login information stored on my PC and when I start steam it comes up with a window with 3 options 'Create new account', 'PS3 players...' and 'login to an existing account'. HELP PLEASE!

When I do it says "Unable to connect to the Steam network. 'Offline mode is unavailable because there is no Steam login information stored on this computer" :(

Did you try to reboot your internet equipment (including your computer)? I read on some forums that this issue may be caused by a bad DNS server. Rebooting your stuff could renew it and maybe help you to connect.

Other people talks about a firewall issue. Do you have a new firewall? Have you done an update lately? Did you try to turn it off?

To make sure it's not account related, try login on a different computer.

Keep us posted.

something on your end is blocking Steam from it's required Internet connections.

1) By reboot do you mean turn it on and off? If so then yes I have. 2) Every time I shut down windows, it says installing update 1 of 1. When this problem occurred I did a system roll back to about 5 days before the problem. 3) I don't have another computer but I have a tablet. I will try that and post back the results. (This is a 6 year old PC and I may have viruses on it, I also use norton and AVG).

I can connect on my Android tablet, so it's my PC or something to do with the connection between my router and my PC.

Is the internet working on your computer? Can you go on Google? Youtube?

Yeah it's working absolutely fine (google, youtube etc), it has been since Tuesday (when I couldn't connect to Steam), I'm using my PC now. My War Thunder launcher (I'm trying to reinstall it because you can play it separatly apart from Steam) but it won't download because it says 'Network limited'.

that sounds more like a router misconfiguration to me...

Could be, but I can use Steam on my tablet which is using the same connection as my PC.

If you think that your computer has some viruses, that doesn't help to fix this... because the next step would be to completly turn off your antivirus+firewall and try steam again, but I wouldn't recommand it if you think you are infected (it can get worse).

I think you should simply debug your PC first, clean it, check your updates, etc. and in the end, steam should be fine.

There's some good stuff that you can try first, like Spybot S&D and malaware bytes.

I've downloaded Malware Bytes and I'm doing a scan now, I'll scan with AVG and my norton aswell (is that pointless or not? :/), then I'll turn off my antiviruses and my firewall and try Steam again.

I'm having the same issue. After downloading the latest Steam update my account won't open on my SO's tablet, but I can go in offline mode on his account on the same tablet. And I can log to my account through another computer. This is driving me crazy. Any other thoughts? Have already deleted and reinstalled Steam on the tablet, checked the firewalls, etc.
