I can´t start the following games under Windows 10:
Counter Strike Source, Half-Life 2 and Half-Life2: Update

Maybe its a problem with the first game start installations

Check if you have DirectX properly installed. Download and install this:

Then report if it worked

Doesent work! The installer says Direct X is allready installed and doesnt install anything new!

What graphics card do you use ? Check either nVidia control panel or AMD Vision Engine Control Center if it's installed properly.

I use 2 Nvidia GTX680 in SLI Mode
DeeJay Mar 28, 2015 @ 3:12am
Other Games run fine!

SLI could be broken on Win 10 ? I'm not sure about this though. Try downloading the newest Beta driver from nVidia.
Or you could also try going to game's properties in the Steam client and verifying game files integrity. If nothing I suggested helps, I'm out of ideas :D

I tried with disabled SLI, doesnt solve it! Verifing Gamefiles doenst solve it, to! I dont think its a Nvidia Problem, because other Games runs fine! I think its some Installer Problem with Windows 10. I opened a support case at steam!

Apparently the newest Beta driver is old :D
Here's the newest one:

But if you have auto updates you should have it installed already.

Idk if steam support will help you with this. You are better going around discussion boards since Steam Support has no helpful answers to questions this specific.

I found some Information that this is a problem of the newest Windows 10 Build 10042! Microsoft has noticed the Problems and will fix it in the next Build of Windows 10!

Well that's what you should expect from a pre-release software. I was also testing Win 10 and it worked flawlessly for me. Then an update came and it broke the system somehow :D

Same problem here. You can add the starting parameter "-window" to start CS:S in window mode and ingame you can change to fullscreen.
