Can I activate a Best Buy digital download purchase through Steam?

Has anyone reading this purchased a digital download through Best Buy and then activated it through Steam? Im wanting to pre-order the GTA V digital download through best buy (via the BB credit card) but I would much rather have the game a part of my steam library and steam achievements than some generic best buy library. Does anyone know if this is possible? Ive written Best Buy but have yet to hear from them.

I am going out on a Limb and say it can not be activated on Steam after reading the BB website.

You cant, when you buy it on steam part of the money goes to steam so they can run the forums and community for the game... But you can add the game to the library and launch it through steam, but you wont be able to join the community
