Steam.exe *32 Using 25% of my CPU all the time
The Steam.exe program is always using 25% of my CPU, even when no games or downloads are going on. I have an i5 quad core processorrunning at 4Ghz, 16GB memory and an SSD hard drive. I have disabled my AV, shut down any app that may be causing issues with steam and it still happens. Lastly I uninstalled steam, rebooted my computer and re-installed steam and the same thing happens.

This has been going on for months.

I have searched and found other people having the same issue but I have yet to see a solution that works. Has anyone figured this out yet?

"Steam.exe *32"
Check where this process is running from.

It looks like a bitcoiner malware

Program Files (x86)\steam
Is that where you installed steam?

I just took the default, I didn't tell steam where to install. I do have malwarebytes and Kaspersky AV on my PC. I have done full scans and they don't find any viruses or malware.

I thought the *32 just shows that it is a 32bit app vs 64bit.
Steam has no 64 bit.

As I said earlier, I completely uninstalled steam, rebooted, then re-installed steam and it is still using 25% CPU all time steam is running, more when I am playing a steam game.

Tried it, the flush didnt work. followed all the instructions and it is still using 25% of CPU.

FYI - I was able to fix my issue. I installed the beta steam client and my issue went away.
