Steam Service Component Must Be Installed
Hello, I opened Steam today, and I saw something say "In order to run Steam on this version of Windows, you must install a Steam Service Component". I pressed OK and it did nothing. It hasn't been working the past half hour. Any help is appreciated.
*It worked 2 days ago, and I'm still using Windows 7*

Did you restart your computer? If that doesn't resolve the problem then downloading Steam and reinstalling should fix this.

I would also suggest scanning your hard disk for errors beause it's very suspicious for an installed service to suddenly disappear.

If you're using any kind of Windows startup optimiser then that could also explaint he removal of the service.
If i do this do i have to reinstall all my games again?

You DON'T need reinstall Steam client - it's bad and stupid tips, just repair client with the integrated functionality #2 https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2087-MZES-9065 or https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638

-Press "windows key" + "r"
-Type "msconfig"
-Press "Enter" key
-Press "hide all Microsoft processes"
-Then look for "Steam client service"
-Press the box and make a check beside it then hit "apply"
-Then hit "ok" and restart pc and when you get back on problem solved :-)

What do you do if "Steam client service" isn't on the list?

Is the page supposed to show up in such a weird way? The text is all black on an almost all black background, barely readable.
