Low Ping, High FPS but lag on all Multiplayer games
I have a question and I am hoping someone in this world is smart and knows how to fix this please!

I also just a new router and it is 60MBPS router and 10MS ping according to SpeedTest.net

I'll give a couple examples of what is happening to me and it is so annoying.

Counter Strike : Global Offensive --- On CS:GO I get 24 ping and it is locked there, I also get 160 FPS. I have restarted my PC, Reinstalled CS:GO, Turn the setting down, reset my router, called Comcast too. (The people I use cable and internet for). All my drivers are updated so there should be nothing wrong. I do not know if it is happening to just me but I hate it.

Heroes & Generals --- Same thing is happing. Low Ping, High FPS but still the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag.

Google Chrome : (I know its not a game but it still takes years to load) Can't connect fast, takes about a minute to connect to any website, even it is the homepage which is just default Google.com

Youtube : (Also not a game) Can't watch videos even at 360p without it pausing and loading taking minutes to load a simple 2 minute video.

Warface : Same thing as every other game, Low Ping, High FPS but still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag.

It happens with every game I own that is multiplayer. I do not know why, single-player on the games works fine. I know it is not the servers on the games either because on Counter Stike : Global Offensive I was playing competitive and it was laggy like ♥♥♥♥. Warface I was playing Official Servers and it was still lagging like ♥♥♥♥. Heroes and Generals was also playing Dedicted official Server and was still lagging like ♥♥♥♥. Rust was playing Dedicated official server and was still lagging like ♥♥♥♥ but I was getting 70FPS. WTF IS GOING ON!

Can somebody please help, even if you don't know it is worth a try helping out. Because you never know, it could actually work.

PC SPECS
---------------

OS: Windows 8

Processir: AMD Black Edition FX 6300 6-core processor

Graphics Card: EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti GDDR5 with 2GB memory

RAM: 8 GB allocated RAM with 7.98 usable according to Task Manager.

Dont know if it will help but I have 700 GB of storage left. So it is not a problem with storage at all.

1st what is your processor, You will have to ask your ISP about your Web Browser problem. The ingame problems is that either you have an old processor or its just the settings your using. Sometime its the server lag and or your PC have to many processes.

Hold Windows Key and hit R type in "msconfig" go to services and uncheck any services you dont need. Hit apply and ok then restart your pc.

Speedtest.com is just connecting to public servers in diffrent areas, game servers are diffrent but with a low ping even 80 you shouldnt lag. It will have to be your processor and your settings

Are you on a wired or a wireless internet connection?

Does this only happen on games you play online through Steam; or non-Steam multiplayer games as well?

You could try cleaning your computer too with CCleaner for one.

Ethernet makes your ping lower because your using a Straight connection and wifi (wireless) you have to go through mutiple servers. Steam uses VAC which is another port it goes through It must be his Computer if its a low ping like that it shouldnt lag. I have 80 ping in CSGO and I run 4k on my laptop without lag.

What does Valve Anti-Cheat have anything to do with latency? Wi-Fi can also be affected by obstacles and other frequencies (including home appliances' [if not set properly.])

Plus, if it was his CPU, he'd probably see issues in offline play too, in forms of low FPS.

VAC has its own server you go through that too its just a factor.

It has to be his CPU because hes using AMD for it (I love AMD) but AMD is made for GPU. Nvidia is made for CPU

OP also mentioned Heroes & Generals; which doesn't use VAC.

Let's just wait for his/her response.

Ok, so my Graphics card is Nvidia, and processor is AMD. I forgot to mention what type of processor. It is a black edition AMD FX 6300 6 core processor. I do fine with all my games on single player or with bots if it is a muliplayer game. Also, it does happen with other games that are non steam related. It is only on Multiplayer also which sucks because that is the most fun. And yesterday before I got my new router, all the games were fine, but my brother has an ethernet cable and so do I. But he is not experiencing any problem, it is only me. Nothing is downloading, only my household are connected just like always. I personally think it could be comcast doing something with my internet trying to make it slower so we have to pay more. Because when I called Comcast and they said that it could be weird for a few hours.. and it has been 8 hours since I got this new motem/router thing. So I just think Comcast is lying and trying to make me pay more money for internet.

I have a AMD Black Edition FX 6300 6-core processor which is only less than a year old. All my single-player games are fine. It is just multiplayer that sucks.

Also when even I change setting to low and end all processes besides the game and Steam of course, I still get the same issue.

Yeah, it has not happened for a while now. If you have a wireless connection like I did, it lags like a ♥♥♥♥♥. Then I got an Ethernet so it connects directly to my router, now I have never had a problem since. My brothers had Ethernet and they did not have no problems.

If you do have an ethernet, and you are still experiencing problems, you might have to call you network provider, or just get a new router, or even a new ethernet. Or maybe even all.

Speed does not equal quality. There are a lot of other factors that influence a connection quality.
Wireless connections quite often have signal strength problems, resulting in packet loss. The ping may be fine, but that doesn't help when the data that gets sent/received is getting corrupted.
nope Oct 18, 2015 @ 9:49pm
pingtest.net check packet loss
