How did someone find my real name on steam (ingame CSGO smack talking) and post it in the chat.
How did someone find my real name on steam (ingame CSGO smack talking) and post it in the chat, my real name is not posted on my Steam Profile, and I don't know the person that i was exchanging smack talk with ..... but in his reply to me was ( i'll come to your house "Real name" and ♥♥♥♥ your mom) so i'm wondering how did he know this infomation about me ... and just how secure is Steam / Valve really...... it's kind of disturbing, can anyone shed some light on this.

You're assuming he got it from Steam. You might want to read up on doxing[en.wikipedia.org]. Also, obviously report the user.

Solved.

People don't realize how easy it is for online accounts to be linked via simple google searches.

Funny part is, he's worried about Steam/Valve's security, yet is apparently posting personal information and reusing usernames across multiple accounts online.

Thanks, and my bad I thought is was some sort of hack .... that was overlooked like the so many other hacks in the game, so I will apologize to Steam / Valve, and also thanks for the Doxing information ... i can't report the guy because i did not think to collect his chat and ID.

Thanks Bro, but I already said sorry, and I did understand the information given to me , so no need to be a wise ass, and yes a lot people use the same info. to link accounts, but as you guys said thats a issue that we all need to made aware of, and sad as it is that's the reality of our time.

You realize I posted that 14 minutes ago. And about 4 or 5 minutes before you "said sorry". Not that I care if you appologize or not.

Unfortunately I cannot see the future, yet.

Dude I hope you don't work for Steam / Valve, you're really not smart, and back at you.

"back at me"? What are you throwing back at me? That I cannot see the future yet? I didn't throw anything your way, at least nothing that would make sense in the "back at you" way.

Kind of starting to see why you got into arguments in CS:GO in the first place.

Fine, and I do see how I'm sounding like an A..Hole, I guess he rubbed me wrong by what I may have thought he was making light at something that I was seriously concerned about

there was a youtube tutorial on how to trace another profile but that depends if he tried to call you on steam! and the scary part was you don't have to answer they would just hang up after they called!!!

Social media, if you've played Counter-Strike for years and been in any "leagues", there's ways of finding out past information about teams, names, etc - and lots of other ways. I wouldn't worry too much about it, and just block communications with the individual.
