Any other low spec gamers

So I'm a bit of a PC gamer (who also plays on consoles) who reccomends that everyone with any connected PC should buy some games. However, I always feel like such an oddball whenever I try to talk to anyone else who games on computer. See, I have a cheap Dell laptop I got on sale at Wal-Mart a few years ago. That is my only gaming "rig." However, I do have a pretty good collection between Steam, gog.com, and the "On the House" stuff from Origin. This despite my computer being pretty weak sauce (basically, if system requirements list a graphics card, I assume I can't play).

Are there any good sites, Steam communities, or other resources dedicated to PC gamers with weak or limited hardware?

I know a lot of people on here will wonder why anyone would game like this, but I can play a ton of old games, and a bunch of indie stuff, so why ignore that just because my computer didn't cost me a ton?

I don't know any sites off hand. But I appreciate any gamer that is enjoying themselves. Not all games have to be set on ultra setttings to enjoy. Game on and have fun my friend!

rad87gn: thanks. I've run into a lot of people who look pretty sideways at low specs, and your attitude is much appriciated. What I always tell my fellow console owners is that all of them have another gaming machine with great, affordable games with tons of support, and they aren't using it at all.

Dont buy laptops for gaming, so you dont need to pay a ton for good computers.

I bought a laptop for a laptop, then found out it played lots of great games. I don't much want a desktop for anything except gaming, so I really can't justify the space or lack of portability, or the fact that it would be "Daddy's computer" when we can barely swing a computer for me and the wife. As a result, it's going to be just a laptop for me until they stop making them. I understand I could get more gaming on a desktop, but thems the breaks.

Then get a laptop for what its used to, and the sum you save by not trying to buy a gaming laptop is a good portion of a gaming computer.

My laptop is a 2009 Acer running win7. Toaster is over-rating it , but potato sounds about right. ;) 1.8 ghz AMD atlelon, with radeon 3200 HDD graphics. A good many indie games do run on this though. Heads up, DX11 platform only partially supported on win7, so a lot of the newer or overhauled games that would otherwise run , still won't. ( State of Decay YOSE, for example)

Those games not running is due to your toaster, not due to Windows 7, which was released with full DirectX11 support by the way.
