Steam thinks i'm in a different country?

I just created this account today. I live in the US. I bought a $50 gift card from gamestop and redeemed it but when I try to buy a game I get this:

"The current payment method does not match the country of the store. The cart has been converted and the updated total will show on the next page. You may also review your cart here, or change your payment method below."

I hit continue and it just refreshes that page and says the same thing. I put in a ticket, but since I have like the next couple of weeks before they get back to me, is there anything I can do to fix this?

I tried buying the game through chrome, firefox and the steam client. I have NO idea why steam thinks i'm in a different country.

Maybe its your Ip address changed ? A vpn or something ?
Try to open this In Google Chrome store.steampowered.com/?cc=us

its not a hack link ...
Adding /?cc=Us is switching it to Us = Usa ( you can also do this to Ru Russia to check games thats locked for you or any other country ).

Yeah I tried that no dice. I don't run a vpn either.

When I click on the 'here' link in the message I always get, it takes me back to my cart and says:

* The store's country has been updated to match your current payment billing location.
Please review the shopping cart which has been converted to 'United States'.

So, when I click continue again I get the same weird message.

Okay so google this
WhatsMyIp it will show you a website that shows your Ip address and the country/state you're currently in, If it shows the real one then the problem is from steam, and i would contact support asap.
if not then something in your pc.

Yeah it shows the real one. I figured it was a problem with steam just sucks that I will have this account of which I can't do ♥♥♥♥, and $50 gone with nothing to show for it for the next couple of weeks.
