Dropped laptop, now games wont run.
I recently dropped my laptop (the only computer i have). And after a while i went to play a game of dota. While the game is loading i alt-tabbed to go on to reddit when suddenly the screen froze. There was short bursts of squeaking sounds coming from my laptop. I had to manually shut down the pc since the screen was frozen. I restarted my pc and tried to open dota 2 again, but the same happened. Then i decided to try to play my other games (that i know worked before) and heres what happened.

csgo: i got to the main menu, but when i tried to start a game it crashed. No squeaking noise.
Half-Life 2: Works like before
Half-Life: Worked like before
Half-Life 2 Episode 2: works fine
Bioshock infinite: works fine
Counter-Strike: Source: Works fine
Left 4 Dead 2: works fine
TF2: Same as dota, cant get pass loading screen but no squeaking noise
hearthstone: worked fine
Portal 2: gotten to the menu and when i proceed to load a game, it crashed. No squeeking noise
Smite: launched the client got into a practice game worked for a while then it disconnected me, not sure if its internet issue or hardware.

I thought the squeaking noise was only a one time thing since i didn't see it in any other game. So i relaunched dota and the squeaking noise was there. Also i tested mostly source games since that seems to be the case and it seems only the newer source games are doing this.

My laptop is a 4 years old Toshiba Satellite L755-s5308. All the drivers are up to date(i dont think its a software issue i think it lies in the hardware). I want to know what is the problem and how much to fix it. And if its better to just buy a new computer (laptop or desktop, im not the richest so budget is low). Thank you.

TLDR: Dropped laptop and now some games won't launch. Whats the problem?

.... You dropped it. That's the problem. You probably damaged your Hard Drive.

Try deleting your games (that don't work), and reinstalling them (verifying the game cache could also work). It might put them on different (undamaged parts of the hard drive).

I tried alt-f4 to close it and that didn't work, i dont think its the harddrive since only the newer source games are malfunctioning. But i'll try uninstalling and reinstalling

i verified dota's cache and now it worked, so it must be a harddrive issue, The squeaking sound is now gone and i think i'll reformat the laptop. Ty for your responses.
