1) Delete foleder appcache in folder steam
2) Unprotect your anti virus
3) Use your manual proxy configuration on default browser
4) Restart your PC
5) Open steamcommunity on your browser > click your notification until nothing notification
6) Try to play DOTA 2 again

don't change your proxy in default browser, like mozilla firefoz whom the port of proxy is 80 and address is nothing.

I have the same this problem "error occured while updating dota 2 (download corrupt)" only when I use with modem but when I connect with optical cable network, it never got this problem. I think it's problem with connection. game online not provide with modem or wireless network.

am just dixed it chage region to russia Moscow it will fix it and enable steam guard restart steam and thats it :) 30.10.2015

I faced the same problem. But actually it is just because of "connection". I tried to update again and again, and again. Then suddenly, at some point of time (while my connection is up perfectly), it went through. So check your connection.
