Is there a limit to how many people you can invite to a group?
Hello everyone. I was just wondering if there was a cap to how many people you can invite into a group in an hour, day, week, month etc... I asked this before but didnt get a clear definitive answer as to what the limit is.

I've searched in the forums and online w/o finding anything. Is there a "rule" or "guideline" that states what the cap is?
Some people have said they got banned for inviting too many people in an hour. But this was a couple years back, and they got banned because of an "unstated rule" supposively. So, if its "unstated", how can it be enforced?

Anyways, I just want to know what Steam says about this matter. I'm not planning on doing mass invites or anything, but would like to invite people from other private groups I'm a part of, into my group. Thanks :)

I've never heard of a cap or anything. If you ran some sort of bot or script to mass invite people then there may be a restriction in place on Valve's end.

My best guess is the people who got banned were spamming invites to random people. Before you send an invite, ask yourself: why am I inviting this person? Because I have reason to believe they are interested in this group, or because I want to get as many people to join as possible?

Thanks for the responses. But, I'm still interested if there is any guidelines or rules for it, because I'm sure there is a cap of some sort, otherwise I'd be getting a ton more group invites all the time from random phishing groups and stuff.

i believe there is a limit and it is at 200 invites per account, nothing however stops you from making another account and continue from that one.. as long as the purpose is not to just make an account for nothing, cant really remember the exact phrasing but i would assume if the alt account had a purpose like to also be used for playing then there should be no problem ;)

however making the group inviter that cycle through accounts might get a bit tricky, i made one myself not to use but to see if i could :P

200 invites per account? What? Well I know thats not true, because i've invited over 200 already. Think I invited about 230 or so within an hour and a half, but then I was thinking maybe there is some kind of restriction in place and I shouldnt do that, so I looked it up, and everything I've seen is pretty vague on the "unstated rule" about invites. Since I've had the group I've probably invited about 400 or so people, but yesterday I started to invite people from a private group I'm in and thought maybe theres a restriction to how many you're allowed to invite in a day, and when I looked it up I saw people getting banned for it, but never specified what the "rule or guideline" actually was...

So, I'm back to square one. Is there a limit to how many people you can invite into a group per hour? per day? per week? etc...

Thanks
