I get 10 mbps from speedtests but only 1.5mbs on steam! Any tips or ways past this?

Well like the title says, im getting 15% of my download speed on steam. I allready tried to change servers, that helped by .2mpbs. PLEASE HELP!

Speedtest measures your connection speed in Mbps. (Megabits Per Second)

Steam downloads are MB/s. (MegaBytes Per Second)

There is 8 megabits for 1 megabyte. So, you're getting just over what you should be getting.

Are you sure that you are comparing same units. You are probably looking at Mbps vs. MB/sec (megabits little b vs. megabytes big B). 10 Mbps / 8 = 1.25 MB/sec. But at work where we have 50/10 Mbps cable, speedtest typically shows 58/11.7, so if you get over 10 Mbps at times that would be about 1.5 MB/sec.
