Steam Launch Options and Multiplayer Help
A while ago, I couldn't log on to steam without being in offline mode. This went on for a few days, so I changed the launch option to "-tcp" and made a shortcut, but now I can't seem to play multiplayer games with people I usually play with. Is this just some connection issue, or is there an actual relationship between steam launcher options and multiplayer capabilities?

EDIT: voice chat also seems to not be working, but I can message people just fine.

Hey

Have you tried running the game without any launch options?

I'm using launch options for steam itself, not the game. When I don't use launch options for steam, it says I can't connect to the steam servers

Have a quick look through the Network Connectivity page. Connection to the servers should not be an issue for prolonged periods of time.

Assuming that it is a problem, that you haven't faced before - could it be due to the installation of a new software, firewall, internet security software, etc - that's interfering with Steam?

those were the first things I checked. I tried every troubleshooting problem before deciding to use tcp protocol. the problem isnt getting steam to launch, its being able to play multiplayer games while running steam in tpc protocol
