Can't purchase games - current country different from Paypal country

Hello,

In my paypal account, I have linked my card with address in Slovakia, but currently I am in Czech republic and I would like to buy a game.

Every time when i try to do so, I get following error:
"Your billing address doesn’t look like it matches up with your current country. Please contact support for assistance or use a payment method registered to your current address."

When I choose payment method Paypal, and steam redirects me to Paypal web to check all details, there is no option to change my shipping address (e.g. like for purchases on ebay), the only thing I can change is telephone number.

I do not want to change address of my primary card - I would need re-verify the card.. buy the game, change address back and re-verify again... that will took much time..

What should I do?

Another way I believe is to unlink your paypal, link it again, but edit the billing address to reflect your current location.

@Vex thanks for the answer, but isn't using VPN quite risky? When are we talking about entering personal data, or bank details..

@Private Larry, I have already tried it, but it doesn't work. Each credit card in paypal is linked with specific address, so I think Steam uses these addresses.. and not address that I enter to Steam.. And then it probably compares with my current IP address country..

I'm having the same problem, i tried going into my browser and type http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=nl which leads me to the steamshop my paypal adress is associated with but that does not seem to work I get the message: an unsuspected erro has occured

RH!N0 sorry for late answer. I haven't solved this, I had to use my PayPal balance instead of my card.

Is your Paypal account linked to the country your not in right now cause that's my case :/

yes, exactly. I couldn't use my card.. BUT Paypal allowed me to use the money that I had in my Paypal wallet.. I think the problem isn't caused by address entered in Paypal, it causes probably address of your credit card and country, from which are you accessing to Steam right now. And if countries don't match, you see an error. Or maybe it is different reason in your case..

Same problems i cant add money whit my account steam for complete purchase dota 2 compedium paypal or credit catd dont work .. i have money i check. But sistem say ... try later

I'm guessing it's this the country I am currently and my steam is thus set to, is different from the country from my Paypal (the paypal account isn't linked up to a credit card I got the funds from my yt channel so yeah :/ but now i'm just giving my friends the amount irl and he will gift my purchase to me the only downside from that is that it isn't registerd as a purchase and I can't use the steam market.. or buy in-game items

Unfortunately, I think this is the only solution right now... Maybe direct connection of your card with your Steam account would work in your case.. But anyway, it doesn't solve anything.. for people that don't have card or don't want to use their card in Steam.. I will report this to Valve, when I find time.. we can't do more at the moment :(
