I moved my game files and now nothing is working...
For some reason when I download a Steam game or a game updates, all of the game code would go into my Pictures folder. Deciding i was done with the clutter, i moved the game files into a new folder. Unfortunately when i did so and tried to open Steam again, a notification came up saying "the file has been deleted or moved, so its not working properly" or something along those lines. Hoping it was just the Steam shortcut, i tried opening another game i had on the desktop, and a message came up saying "steam://rungameid/620 Application not found".

Any ideas as to what to do would be greatly appreciated. I'm just REALLY hoping i didn't just lose everything...

How can i get to the Steam Client without having the Steam Shortcut? The only way i can get on steam now is in-browser.

If your short cut doesn't work, then browse to where ever you have Steam installed and run Steam.exe

it still doesnt work. The same message pops up;
"The item 'Steam.exe" that this shortcut refers to has been changed or removed, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. "
Can i just re-download steam?

Don't use a shortcut. Browse to where you have Steam installed and run Steam.exe

The message says you are running a shortcut, not the Steam.exe file directly. You need to go to the folder you installed Steam, not the shortcut you have floating around. Run Steam.exe directly rather than the shortcut that is pointing toward it.

When i search Steam in my programs and files, only two programs come up; One of them being the shortcut, and the other is a link to Steam Support
(thank you for trying to help)

When you search for "Steam" using the search menu on Windows all that shows up in the Programs is the Steam shortcut and the Steam Support contact link, which is also a shortcut.

Click the "See More Results" option at the bottom.
Then on the window that pops up, scroll down until you see "Search again in:"
And click on "Computer"
Wait for the files to load, and you should see one called "Steam" that is an Application.
Should be about 2.75MB in size.

Well, you moved it somewhere. You can try to reinstall Steam, it may let you, or your computer may know it's still install and warn you or something (I never really try to reinstall programs I already have installed).

Although all of my games are uninstalled, im able to install them again. And by the looks of it, everything is saved.
Thank you SO much for walking me through this. i really cant thank you enough

Oh, and do you know if there's any way to move the files without messing anything up?

I've never done it myself, but I would imagine you could use the Backup and Restore system (in the Steam menu) to backup your game and restore it to a new location. That should take care of any shortcut and install location issues.
