Steam needs to have a patch to remove this feature. I understand that it is a dumb process to sit there and "assist" you with every link you click via ur steam chat, to tell you "that this website may not be safe and you accept the risks" but seriously, they could tether it in with the chat window itself. BUT everyone this day in age requires someone else to do the thinking for them.
I say they need to have an easy to locate setting or to release a patch to get rid of the stupid thing.
webhelper.exe it's adware...
if you have bugged infected system - there nothing related to Steam
mem usage is 4,5,7mb.

Yes, each "Tab" of the client is a separate process.
One for the Store, one for the Community, One for what ever other section you have open.
The more you use it, the bigger it gets. Every file, picture, video, etc. that you view on the Steam Community gets loaded and stored there.
awry-thing requires memory, even when u click on community & post a comment
sometimes there is 3 & sometimes there are 2 running, from what depends on the number of them running?
The "tab" system. Whether or not you've opened up the Community, Store, etc.
You can test to see which ones are which. It has to do with Steam upgrading their client to be based off the the Chrome web browser. I believe Chrome uses a separate processor for each "Tab".
