My friend just made a steam account, but I can't find him?

The title explains it all, my IRL friend just made a steam account, and I'm trying to add him, but I can't seem to find his username anywhere, does steam have a thing where they add accounts to their database every few minutes? He's trying to add me as well but he can't.

Sometimes the search functions on the community can be a bit...broken.

Send him your profile URL or have him send you his. If he is a limited account user he wont be able to friend you, you will have to add him.

I did, I was talking to him on the phone but it was dying so I had to hang up, I've been making wild guesses, I know what he usually calls himself on games and other stuff, but no matter what I search thats close to his profile name, I either get something that isn't him, or no results on the "Add friend" thing.

I'll try finding him tomorrow, I also asked him to add me, also I'm assuming a limited account is someone that has no games right?

Ask him if he is level 0. If he is then that means he is a limited account user.

He actually said he was level 0 a few minutes ago, yeah, he just made the account around an hour ago.

He hasn't bought a game then. He won't be able to send you a friend request but you can send him one.

That's where I am stuck, I can't find his username, he said it to me but I can't find it anywhere.

Edit: He should be level 1, he just bought a game, i think.

Well, I tried messaging him, he said he had to go to bed, I'll probably try looking the username up tomorrow, or calling him tomorrow.
