2. You can't use Activate a Product on Steam with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag because it is not a Steamworks game; but that of an Uplay game.
I'll try rightclicking as you mention. It would be awesome if the activation key turns up there. - You mean rightclick the game on my library list, or? Well, I can try them all. - Thank you for the suggestion, it's a good idea. I'll report back how it works out.
Here's an example of what I mean[www.dropbox.com]; ignore the custom Steam skin I use.
Thanks again, I owe you one! :)
PS. I'm going to try and login now.
I tried logging in with another game, another Ubisoft game, AC: Brotherhood, and that went normally. But Black Flag still won't load.
To my knowledge I don't have BitGuard. But I have a BuildID number. It's listed under LOCAL FILES below the four options of which the last is Verify Integrity of Game Chache (which I did).
I've tried doing some research about BitGuard, but so far there's nothing helpful. It does have another name as well, though: BProtector, Application Manager, and Browser Protector. But after looking around and checking the rograms I can delete, it seems I don't have BitGuard. From the description of it's behavior it also seems I probably don't have it.
Okay, it's certainly worth a try. I'll start with DirectX and work through the list, then tell you how it went.
(I've often wondered why it's necessary to download DirectX everytime you install something, no matter if what you install is newer or older or is the exact same kind of program i.e. completely different; DirectX always needs to be installed; also if your browser updates itself, that needs another DirectX installation too.)

About Visual C++ Reditributables... I have no less than 11 of those:
2005 Redistributable
2005 Redistributable
2005 Redistributable (x64)
2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.3...
2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.3...
2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.2...
2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.3...
2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.3...
2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.3...
2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0...
2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0...
As you can see, the last two are 'Redistributable 10's, but only one is x64 (the other is x86). - This has led me to conclude I probably won't need to download anymore of those - though there are a couple of duplicates, so I may be wrong. If nothing else helps, I'll return and try to download this one.

I tried to update my driver, but as expected it was already up to date (I expected this because it's set to uto-update whenever there is an update available; likewise, whenever I install a game or propgram that depends on drivers, the program searches for the newest updates as well as possible new drivers that may be better or as good as the one I already have).

Finally there's AMD/ATI. I don't have either of those on my PC, but ran an test by the trademarked 'AMD Catalyst Autodetect', which could tell me that my graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660, my processor is an 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3220 C...', and finally that my Operating System is... non existsent according to their program. Good thing that I already know what it is, then: A simple, but well functioning Windows 8.
..........
Right off the bat now it seems to me there's only one thing I haven't tried (that is, nothing that I know of), and it may be time I simply find a link that'll allow me to get int touch with Ubisoft support.
So long, Teutep, I'll be back before you know it and tell you how wonderfully well everything has worked out. Yeah, for I'm not going to give up before I find a way!... Would you? No, right? Well, me neither, so see you soon - and thanks for your support. It helps when someone bothers to spend a little time writing some suggestions... It really does, and I appreciate it.
PS.... As always, if somebody sees this and know of a way I can fix whatever got broken or just is inccomplete, I'll be very glad to hear from you.
