Pasting the game files into \SteamApps\common\[game_name]?
I have a PC that me and my friends can use only with mobile hotspot, thus making downloading games very painful.

I was thinking about downloading the game for the steam library here, from home with a normal connection, copy the whole folder on a storage device, bringing it to the other computer and then pasting it in the "common" steam folder of the other pc, will this in any ways be possible to avoid redownloading everything? :KneelingBow:

Yes. You will still need to connect to the Internet to confirm your license, but it will detect existing files and won't download them.

I'd suggest also copying the appmanifest_<app-ID>.acf file from the SteamApps\ folder for the purpose.

If you're unsure what the APP-ID for the game is, check the Store page's URL.

This won't work. I pasted the files and started steam hoping it would detect the games but nothing happened. I then proceeded to go to the shop and try to download the game, hoping that the download would go 100% in no time but it didn't work, the download started from 0% even if the files were already all of them in the folder, no sense.

There's an appmanifest_numbers file in your SteamApps folder.

You will need to copy the numbers which match that of the game's you're trying to copy.

For example: Team Fortress 2 is
http:// store.steampowered. com/app/440
440

Therefore; appmanifest_440.acf

Copy that from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\
to
G:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\
for example.

It worked! Using the .acf files makes steam add, magically, the games to your library after a restart:KneelingBow:
