.SCR file download

I did a stupid thing guys.... I should've looked this up before, but wasn't paying attention and downloaded an .scr file in a fake trade scam. I am currently locked out of steam(it says it cannot contact servers) and i just watched them sell some pretty good skins out from under me. I deleted any payment info and am running a full system scan with malwarebytes. Is there anything else I can do that people know of? I am a grown ass man with some tech experience and I feel like such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot. Please help.

P.S. My steam icon in my toolbar has changed to a small image of the inventory screen.

The file corrupts/deletes files from your Steam directory.

You need to scan your computer thoroughly with a good anti malware program and delete any remnants of that file you downloaded. Then you need to reinstall Steam.

Well, doesn't really matter what order you do it in. But the Steam install is corrupted and needs to be repaired or reinstalled.

The first thing you should do is secure your computer, and make sure there are no viruses or remnants of the malware on it.

Uninstalled steam and now the malware detection program just needs time to finish up. I don't even care about the skins compared to my data and payment info. Is there anything else I can do besides change my password/authorization info when the client is reinstalled?

Stop clicking on every link someone sends you. Especially from strangers. Additionally, use your brain while using the internet, it's a dangerous place.

Change your e-mail password on another computer / your phone, then change your Steam password + reset all computers on Steam Guard options.
