Adding a Steam game to Library

Hey so I noticed that Red Alert 3 and Command and Conquer 3 are on Steam. I own a hard copy of both of those and I tried to use the CD Key to activate it with Steam but that didn't work. What process (if any) do I need to do to register them both on here? I mean anything south of buying them again. Thanks in advance!

Install Origin.

If the keys didn't work, you will most likely have to buy them again.

The only way to get them on Steam is to buy them from Steam.

You may be able to redeem your retail key on Origin, since it is an EA owned game, and Origin has a pretty good record for allowing retail keys to be added from EA games. (Origin is EA's baby, after all).

The keys work to install the game. Just not to register them with Steam. I bought RA3 when it first came out and I got the CnC3 Complete.

Yes, because not all retail games activate on Steam. Only a select few.
