The drivers for my mouse and keyboard and their media keys are now no longer loaded and don't work, various things that I need to run also don't work.
You're basically saying "You can't have a car crash, if you don't start the engine".
This doesn't in any way stop viruses that install themselves over the original .exe file or add themselves to the Scheduled Task list.
Novadays you need to have both antivirus and antimalware. A bit more scared users can also add a anti-spyware to the list. (any better AV + Malwarebytes + SpyBot)
What you are suggesting is can be all said with "run Windows in safe mode" It prevents anything besides basic windows functions from running so the malicious programs cannot be duplicated to keep itself alive.
Anyways, I love those "pro-tip" topics. Cause they OP is usually more clueless about the whole thing as the ones who bother here to post.
