Can you make a launch parameter to your launcher?
Right mouse click the Steam shortcut on your desktop -> Properties -> Target
Change
Try to run through the shortcut; forcing Steam to use the TCP port protocol instead of the UDP.
If that won't work; re-validate your Steam -client installation unless you've done that already.
You can do that by navigating to
- Steam.exe
- SteamApps
- userdata
- ssfn(numbersequence)
and then launching the client through the shortcut.bought dayz comp crashed half way through the dl.
Well, I'll have to say for Windows 7 users it's most likely the pre-6.1.6701 version of Windows; and Windows 8 users seem to suffer from UDP -port related issues.
Although, I know people who can run Steam on 6.1.6700; so it's not completely excluded and there's still something I'm overlooking.
I won't guarantee they'll work for you, I'm still just a regular user and we're all on different hard- and software, but it's always good to troubleshoot some possible methods out of the way. :)
