Where is Steamworks Dev group ?

Join the Steamworks Dev group ------> "this is a private group"

They give you a link to the Steamworks Dev group under "Get Steamworks Help". The group is private and you cant access even if you signed in.

" Get Steamworks Help " linking to a closed, private group is not of any help, in my opinion, for people that just signed in and agreed with the terms that dont allow the user to discuss on other forum.

I undestand there should be a private group for devs with already greenlit games, etc. So maybe a dedicated, strictly moderated, support forum for new users could be created. Or a small rewrite of the TOS perhaps?

Use the SDK forum for SDK threads. The steamwords dev section is for steamworks devs.
You are in the steam section atm, go back 1 and click tools and servers.

It's not the Source SDK im talking about but the STEAMWORKS API.

I will follow your sugesstion and post there. MIght get more chances to find someone knows whats going on.

Edit:

All the relevant forums are restricted "Posting privileges: Only group moderators and officers are allowed to post in this forum."

The only accsesible forum is the one with people asking for hammer editor help.

All the sdk forums are available, click the link then check the sub forums on the right.

Did you go and navigate to the closed sdk area? The forum with the sticky at the top telling you to go here.

I writed the post over "General DIscussions" which was the only unrestricted forum for me there (and the one you liked me and the one I was talking about full of hamer ed questions). And before hiting post I just pulled the tab and selected the subforum I wanted to publish. Now the restricion message is gone for all forums. Must have been a bug.

I couldnt find any post with a sticky pointing. Neither could find any "closed sdk area".

What game on steam did you make?
Why do you not have a steamworks dev badge?
When did you sign the valve nda?

These are all reasons why you can not see or post in the steamworks dev group, the group is only for steamworks devs.

Ok. So then why is there is a link under "Get Steamworks Help" pointing me to an unaccesible group?.

The front page can be viewed by everyone but you can only view the forums if you are a member.

Please speak to your valve rep if you are a steamworks dev. If not then its the normal forums for you.

Well, that group front page isnt showing for me (and a few other users I just asked).

So there's no steamworks API support forum for developers that are not on greenlight?

I'm not suppose to be allowed to discuss steamworks on normal forums.

You are more than welcome to discuss steamworks on the forum, it's just the steamworks developer group is for steamworks developers only.
