Bluetooth audio completely cutting off in-game
So after testing out my new Bluetooth headphones, I've noticed that in some games (TF2, Garry's Mod, CS:GO) the audio just cuts off and stops playing for any applications, not just the game, including my browser and stuff. Exiting the game restores audio playback to the other applications. In TF2 and Garry's Mod, the audio cuts out just before I get in a game. In CS:GO, it doesn't play from the get-go. Playback devices show my Bluetooth Audio Renderer (Default Device) and Bluetooth Hands-free Audio (Default Communications Device) enabled, with the Bluetooth Audio Renderer appearing to be playing sounds from the game/browser. However, no sounds are coming out of the headphones. I would also like to note that my headphones have a built-in microphone.

Strangely enough, turning off my Bluetooth adapter and then turning it back on fixes the game's audio, but for whatever reason, the other applications still cannot play sound.

If anybody can help me out, I would appreciate that.

Well, looks like if I disable my Built-In Microphone, the audio doesn't cut out like that anymore. Didn't really use it much anyways.
I disabled my bluetooth headset as a recording device in windows - made the sound work again. Guess this means I can't use the mic on the headset now. right click on sound icon in taskbar, sounds, recording tab, right click on bluetooth headset and select disable.

I have same problem. As roocell said, I also disabled my bluetooth recording device. If not, computer's all sounds would be dead.

I think... bluetooth mic + steam game = CRAZY..

It's an old problem. But steam didn't fix this.

I think i got it. Do you have a phone?
This is just cause of minutes
1) Disable Bluetooth microphone
2) Download DroidCam on your phone (For microphone use)
3) Download DroidCam client on your pc
4) follow the steps to use DroidCam
5) Use Audio only
6) Go to a Gmod multiplayer server
7) Chat with your friends :)

This fixed it for me. Logged in just to say thanks. I've been looking for a solution to this for months, but had given up.

Oddly enough, my other headset that was wired through USB worked fine, but it's a terrible headset. I thought that maybe it was a Bluetooth specific thing so I searched that up.

Clearly, it has something to do with the microphone. I suspect several games have some sort of built-in voice chat settings that mess with it, hence only some games having problems.

For me, I couldn't play TF2, GTA V, or Portal 2 without these problems.

No longer! Thanks!
