Scammed by Steam and 505 Games.
Hello everyone,
I'm here to post something a bit unusual, but I indeed consider it quite necessary due to the disrespectful answers I receive from Steam Support and 505 Games[www.505games.com] Support regarding my issue.

Being said that, I've been scammed by Steam and 505 Games aswell.
I used to play a Free to Play game called "Battle Islands" developed by 505 Games (or 505 Mobile Games).
I bought some in-game gold (kind of currency) which I couldn't use at all because, based on this official thread in Battle Islands' community forums, they have a CONFIRMED "bug" related to loss account data (or save data). Hard to believe, but whatever.

So, after a loss of USD $10.00 and losing EVERYTHING in-game, I contacted 505 Games support so they can retrieve my account back. But they couldn't. Or they did not want to. They just offered me to give me "what I bought" again. But what about the HOURS I waste playing to achieve what they already knew I will lose?
What about Steam Support? They just answered automated-replies like robots by basically saying "we don't give a ♥♥♥♥ and we don't care about 3rd party apps and their customers, even if we publish their games HERE IN OUR STORE and even if THOSE CUSTOMERS ARE OUR CUSTOMERS TOO".

In simple words, YES, I've been SCAMMED BY Steam and 505 Games.
A non-beta videogame, malfunction with "tricky" bugs that "can't be solved" and won't be fix is making me and others players to waste money and time while Steam is allowing it without applying any common sense.

The question is WHY? Why a large corporation and community as Valve don't even say "hey, let's make something to stop this because our customers won't be happy at all"?
I love Steam, I love Valve, I'm a huge fan and loyal customer of them, but this is not just about my time and my money, is about my rights.

Quite irreverent. And I feel quite insulted. What I just desire is that someone handle this properly, without automated replies and lies.

Because Steam do not give 3rd party support.

"You will need to contact the game's developer/publisher directly for support if you encounter any errors or unexpected behavior which is not related to Steam authentication or CD Keys after the game has loaded."

Don't be another robot repeating that man. I already know everything related to 3rd party support, but if you are "supporting" a 3rd party app by letting them to publish in your site, at least you can provide me some useful help and not just silly answers.

The helpful info was included in the post. It will help you from wasting time trying to contact the wrong people or post in a forum that wont be able to assist you.

So what if the developer/publisher don't answer? Should I just sit down and wait for a miracle? Sorry to disagree with you but I trully think I'm trying to contact the right people when sending a ticket to Valve. I can't even understand how is it possible that they allow this kind of stuff from a publisher. I mean, I'm reporting a SCAM SITUATION and they just wash their hands? Really? Come on man, are you telling me that eBay shouldn't take care of their publishers and customers in situations like this? Valve is a store, just like eBay, Amazon and other places. It doesn't matter what rules they invented to 3rd party apps, is just irreverent, and as a customer, I feel quite bad for it.

Sorry about that, 1 of the devs in that forum deleted this thread so i moved it to another section were it cant be removed.

My recommendation is to send an email to the company that made this game. Steam sells the game but they wont offer the level of sort of support you are after.

STeam has no visibility into what happened in the game. Anyone could 'claim' they lost $10 and go back to steam and complain. They ahve no way to verify what you're saying. You could simply be lying. There's no way for Steam to know that. Any more than if you went to BestBuy and claimed that.

You ahve to go through the publishers/developer's support. They're the only ones who can do anything.

You already linked to the article where they will restore your save game. I don't see what the 'problem' is if you're unwilling to use that route. If the devs cant recover your save then thats the developer's problem. Not steams. The devs are offering you exactly what you paid for in lieu of the save restore. THe items you PURCHASED. It's not a scam because they're restoring what you bought. You may not like that but don't pretend its a scam.

Hello,

We sympathise with the difficulties you have experienced and regret any distress this has caused. As the Community Manager for Battle Islands I would like to clarify our understanding of what has occurred to this point.

As you know, unfortunately after launch there was an issue of save data disappearing, which has since been acknowledged and fixed. As one of those affected, you contacted our support team and went through the prescribed steps to attempt to recover your data.

In this circumstance, it was unfortunately not possible to retrieve the data, so we offered a generous amount of in-game currency (worth in excess of 100USD) to rebuild your island quickly and get back into the game as soon as possible.

You have chosen not to accept this offer and as we could not retrieve your island, and requested a refund for your purchase. We informed you at this stage that we do not have the information or tools to process a refund for you, and you would need to contact Steam customer services. **Please note this is not the policy of our company but a part of Steam's terms of sales, which can be viewed here http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement

Once again I apologise that you have lost your data due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, as well as the loss of confidence this has caused. While we regret being unable to assist in obtaining a refund, please know our offer of in-game currency still stands and we would be more than happy to facilitate this should you choose to accept.
