Can't buy games or add funds on steam
While trying to add funds or buying a game I keep getting this error:

An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact Steam Support.

I have verified that there are no proxies involved nor am I using a VPN.

I have tried many ways to solve this and none of them are working so far please help!

Please note!: I am running on linux.

What exactly have you tried? Have you contacted Steam Support like the message tells you to do?

A few things that can sometimes fix purchasing errors:

  • If you're using the Steam client, try using a web browser, and vice-versa.
  • Sometimes deleting everything in your Steam folder except for your Steam.exe and SteamApps folder can correct transaction problem in the client.
  • Try an alternate payment method, if possible.
  • Simply try waiting a while. There may be a problem on Valve's end.
  • If none of the above work, contacting Steam Support should be your next step. You can contact them here. You will need to create a separate Steam Support account in order to submit a ticket.

I have not tried the second option but I do not know how to do that via linux but if did I would like to give it a try and maybe that would help solve it.
