Activating an old key on steam.

Hi guys.I posses a retail copy of command & conquer 3 tiberium wars and kane's wrath. I tried activating the keys on steam but it doesn't accept them.
Is there no way to activate them through steam?

You can probably activate it on Origin, since it's made from EA.

Jut because it comes with keys, doesn't mean that they can be activated on Steam—or anywhere else for that matter.

The serial code found inside the manual or the box is first and foremost meant for installation purposes and/or unlocking online features.

I have tried this b4 and the issue is usually that with EA/Origin games, if the game was released before the EA/Origin game client existed, then such keys generally won't work. My retail keys from games like BF1942 or BF2 + expansion packs for either games, those keys from my retail discs wouldn't work. But my keys from my retail NeedForSpeed games, those worked. But only as far back as the first NFS Most Wanted, keys from older NFS games did not work on Origin.



I can't speak for keys working on Steam. But if your retail game did not require Steam, usually will not work with Steam. However there is a whole game list for what "can" work on Steam, such as various retail game keys and such.

Try one of these pages to register the box-key on (an/your) origin account. It may require you to create a "classic persona".
