How to set compatibility settings?
There are a few games in my portfolio, where the game developer support ended with "You are not playing the game on the system it was developed for, please try setting the compatibility settings of the shortcut". (Why do those companies list Windows 7 in the prerequisites and then think they could whitewash crashes with this argument? But that's not the core part of this question.)

Well, the shortcut is steam://rungameid/xxxx and Windows 7 thinks this is a URL and therefore does not offer compatibility setting for the shortcut, and I doubt it will be helpful to start the Steam client in e.g. Windows XP compatibility mode to start a game in the compatibility settings.

The steam client offers in the game property means to set command line arguments for the game to start, but either there is no possibility to set a compatibility mode for the game or I just did not found it.

Is it possible and if yes, how can this be done?
