random charges on my credit card from steam powered.com Seattle WA 1
I bought two increments of $5.00 to add to my steam wallet on 9-22-14 and 9-23-14 with my visa, but when i checked my bank statement it also had a charge for $1.82 and a charge for $1.05 both taking place on 9-23-14 from steam powered.com Seattle WA. I have absolutely no idea what these charges could've been from and I definitely didn't make them. When i was on the community market it said my profile had been flagged for "suspicious behavior" and I was unable to buy or sell any more items until i verified the amounts that had been charged to my card. I then went to check my bank account online and saw the two charges in question and without really thinking just put the $1.82 and $1.05 in and it lifted the hold on my account. I have since changed my password for my account on steam and for my bank account but i was just wondering if anyone else has had random charges put on their account and what to do next to get that money back. I realize its only $2.87, but its the principle of my account getting hacked and having random charges put on my credit card that frustrates me and makes me feel like my information isn't safe on Steam.

Those charges if I'm not mistaken that is how Steam authorizes the credit cards. Those charges should be removed in 5 to 10 business days, according to Steam documentation on this subject.

Oh okay yeah that would make sense, I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days and see if they are removed from my pending transactions. Thanks Bender! :]

Not a problem!

If you were to see something like a $25.00 USD charge on your bank statement, that'd be something I would worry about.

yeah that would be a definite red flag! lol

Definetly!

If those charges do not go away in a maximum of two weeks, I'd contact Steam about it. They should go away though, as I recall having a charge similar in the amount of yours before.

I would send over the United Nations and let them take care of it. :)

I have tried it. And honestly... they don't give any response but they will refund it. It's been 2 weeks and again, no response. I am starting to wonder what is their policy on returns.

Policy on returns? Here, let me quote it:
