Steam does save chat logs, If you enable it in the options.

I would love to see a log of the dates and times I clicked "add friend" for particular users. Seems like they could keep a log like that similar to the account/licenses page (a timeline) under the account.

It's a good way to double-check your memory in case you accidentally sent multiple friend requests to the same person, or to see if your account got compromised or if it was glitching somehow.

I sent a message to steam support about this hopefully they'll get back to me.
