Skins (stolen) - How is it possible?
Ok,
my English is not the best. But I try to describe.

I got a M4A4 - S , Cyrix by box.
I want to sold at csgo lounge.
A lot of people added me, and wanted it.

I know that everyone don't trust each other.
So i wanted to get money on paypal or by transfer.

But none want to do directly.

So 1 customer want that i give the weapon a good friend of me. And if i got the money the friend should send it to him

!!!! BUT CARE HERE IS THE FAKE !!!!

He make a chat with us 2.
And if i should trade the weapon to my friend.

He trade me with another account and fake the account of my friend.
He took the same avatar and the same Name of my Account.

There is a high problem of Steam.
Why someone can trade me. I don't have in list?
And why he can take the same name like my friend? He looks 1 to 1 the same like him.

I want my weapon back!

His true Steamaccount name was today : 50% BOTO 50% BILAT
I don't know if he change it soon.

I hope i could help some people, that they don't do the same fail.
And i hope Steam can do anything. Give me the weapon back, or bann this person.

Than you can say. Why is AGB in a normal shop? If noone read it.
Thats the reason why there come rules from the EU. That in every transfer or deal must stand the PRICE in FAT. So that no shop can fake it.

So noone needs Scammer. It is possible to fight one scamming way.
ITs a thread to warn other persons.
And i hope that Steam read it and fix it.

Sure, it'd be nice for Valve to add the feature, but it's still the user's own fault for falling for a thing that's existed since... forever

Yes and you see that i am not the only one. He got scammed by this method.
So is it easy to make some vertices. By trading. From Steam side.

Thats the same why is a the police in reallife. And why Rules in Reallife.

So why here are no rules.

There only have to change some things.
Why is it possible to have the same names?
Its a better thing if everyone have a individuel name.
like : Oracle, Oracle1 , Oracle12
but not the same

Dont follow scammer commands.
Thats the general safety belt.

Only do what you KNOW to be the right way.

There are 100s of ways to get scammed. If you are old or young.
Avoid it.

"The scammer told you to join a group chat, told you to use your friend as middleman, then he impersonated your profile with a slightly different name, and told you to quit the conversation but stay in group chat. Then he asked your friend to give the item back. Or he send a trade offer."
Thats how it seems to happen to people. Because they let someone else guide them into a trap. Without any reason at all. Apart from getting scammed or tricked.

If you follow such things, steam cant safe you. Because you dont start to avoid such things.

You write here "don't follow scamming"
But if persons don't know what scamming is. Never see it before.
The question is "WHY IS IT ABLE TO SCAM".
Tackle the problem at the root.

And you talk, like its reallife deals here.
IF it is. Why is it not able to write a report at police. So that they got the IP from Steam. And with enough evidence like screenshot, and asking more than one person. They got him.

So its not enough to warn in a Forum above scamming.
Its a problem which must be handle and fixed

If people read forums, they'd know what it is and they'd be able to avoid it. Sometimes it's even common sense they obviously lack, doing something for something that clearly seems to be too good to be true; yet they still go on with it. (In this case it's not the latter.)

Again, forcing people to stick to unique aliases isn't the solution. It would be like with /me, hit everyone for the sake of a few people who fall for something. Sure they could put something like "This person isn't on your friendslist" in the trading window (theoretically), but some middleman trades happen even when the victim has the said user on their friendslist by similar alias, uncapitalized letter, similar looking digit et cetera. They can't be same named on the friendslist because then they'd have the (1), (2)..

I wouldn't compare Steam to police either. Most of the time with Steam, the users play at least somewhat a relevant role in getting themselves screwed over. As for life 'rules', laws are ultimately just objectionally considered norms to protect the 'values'..

Just need to be extra careful when it comes to money transfer. It is recommended to check the seller\buyer profile before proceed with the trading.

^ This. In addition to that, if you did get screwed at that point, it would still be seen as gifting the item away since the trade would happen outside the trading window.

It's not recommended, has never been recommended. Better idea is to just sell the item on Steam Market and gain Steam Wallet cash. Earn your real-life money elsewhere.

I told you to only do in the internet what you KNOW is right.
It IS like in real world, if you follow scammers you lose.

You can report the profile with the more button.
Or even waste supports time. Trades are final. Trades are what happened.
As unfortunate that is for you.

If i want to use steam, i must not read forum.
It is to use games.

So it is the job to handle from steam side.

A Antivirus is never so actually like a virus. But 1 week later he is on the standart of the virus. But he is always behind.

But it is the job to react on something like this.

And it is not enough if someone write on forums about scammer.
It isnt the job to read forums from steam users.

Ironically enough, you weren't using it for games, but for trading. Might want to know the common scam methods before you attempt them, before you blame the system for it.

IF you ask so what.
You can ask to any answer "Why it is" ?

You don't understand, that it is possible to block scumming.
So if the people want it. It will come.
And so not really must talk ♥♥♥♥ to a concrete proposal

It is not possible to stop scamming. If people follow scammer commands.
Steam introduced a lot of things to support stupid and careless people.
The other day the scammers used a new method that harvested even more stupid people.
Today people even get scammed "in the name of steam guard".......

You just dont want to take the card that says, you were unsmart. You want a card that says, someone else is at fault.

You dont need to know scams. You just need common sense.
