Weird and random steam people, adding me as friends

It's happened to me twice now. Where i get some random from around steam adding me.
The both said that they had supposedly steam lag, and wern't able to add me using there own profile. The said they also wanted to trade some random thing with me.

The first time this happend to me, i guess i stupidly fell for it, and added them. but nothing happend ? neither one replyed on either profile.
so i just ended up dissadding the first one.
but now iv'e just got this second person who said the exact same thing, but i didn't add his steam profile and just asked what they wanted to trade ?
but he never replyed.

so in the end i just dissadded him.
but i wonder now, weather it's some thing big, like them trying to hack my profile ?

should i report them ?
do i get in trouble if i report the wrong thing ?


plus also someone has just added me, but he's not talking to me at all ?
also each of them all have private profiles...

They're scambots, as long as you don't enter the link they provide. (An obviously misspelled Steam link.) You're fine.

You can report them from their profile.

If they don't respond, it's most likely because the phisher bots is bugged, usually they will send you a link to a fake Steam site to steal your information.

Report them and block them, that's all you can do for now.

This happens to me at least once or twice a week..someone will add me as a friend, then I'll go look at their profile and it's blank, no games owned. Just spambots I assumed..I always report & block them.

Its cam bots, just ignore them and report them on thier profile
