Best Free Game Recording Software
So I have been looking into game recording software and I can't find any good ones. Fraps and DXtory are out of the question for me because they take up WAAAAAAAAYYYY too much space! I know that you can compress them, but it doesn't matter; my computer can't handle those file sizes. I have tried MSI Afterburner, and it is OK, but my framerate drops too much (80-22) and it does not have the best quality I have tried OBS, which I LOVE, except it stopped working for me.

Not really stopped working, but sometimes I have a black screen. Then, when I get it to work, although I have about 40-50 fps when recording, when I watch the video it LAGS LIKE CRAZY!!

Does anyone have an alternative that has descent quality, the fps does not dip a alot, and the file sizes are descently small (4 gb for 15 minutes max preferred) BEFORE compression? Thanks for your help!! (:

There's camstudio, but you won't get much that will make it take less HD space. It has to go someplace while recording it. Here's what you should do if you're really set on recording and your main HDD can't store enough. Buy an external drive, they're cheap, like 50 bucks for a terrabyte? Maybe even less by now, and they'll store every bit of recording data you need.

I am going to purchase an extra drive, but an SSD. I was planning on getting a 128 GB Samsung SSD, however I am having second thoughts. I have heard so much that for things such as video storage and gaming, an SSD isn't really neccesary and that you should just get 1TB HDD. What do you think? Is the SSD worth the sacrifice of more money and less storage in exchange for an upgrade on practically everything about the HDD?
