Buy Steam wallet for your friend or son?
You can buy a gift card, if you don't want to use your credit card on your sons account.

Otherwise there is no way to buy or transfer steam wallet between accounts, besides the Community Market.

To give Steam Wallet credits to another user you have to use Steam Wallet cards. You can find them at some local stores depending on your area. Otherwise you can use some prepaid gift cards.

Steam doesn't allow transfer of wallet funds or gifting of wallet funds through Steam directly.

Pffff, stupid STEAM! Crazy. You would think they would give you the feature to transfer wallet funds to another user as a gift. Why on earth would I want to go to a shop and buy credit for something on the internet ?
Thanks for the quick reply guys :)

Too much fraud already exists on Steam.

Why on earth would I want to go to a shop and buy credit for something on the internet ?
Almost every online service has gift cards. It's not unique to Steam. It's common across the digital distribution and services world.

Keep in mind, if someone gets hijacked. The hijacker can easily transfer the money to his account.

Well, they already can in t form of items. So that's a moot point.

He is playing counter stike something or other where you HAVE to buy weapons for like $0.000000000000000001 I ain't going to sit in the market place and hunt for all the stuff he wants from 3000+ things you can buy. The gaming world has become a rip-off world. I bought Half Life over 10 years ago and never had to pay extra to play it. Why are people so accepting that you get ripped off with an expensive game and THEN have to pay more to play it.

You don't have to buy items in CS:GO to play it. People chose to by and sell these extra items that are purely cosmetic as far as I understand.

You are just ranting for the sake of ranting without even knowing what you are ranting about.

Everything is open to hijacking - it shouldnt stop Steam being lazy arses and implementing the feature. If I have credit I might only want to transfer half of it so it could still get stolen. Same as a bank account. Lazy programming!

I likes ranting :)

Non transferable credit balances are not something unique to Steam. It is a common feature on multiple platforms. Use of gift cards to give people funds on the service is also not something unique to Steam.

Again... ranting for the sake of ranting. These are pretty standard features when it comes to digital services.

OK rant over! I'll go hack my sons account and put some money in it :)

There are also Steam Wallet card codes that are instantly redeemable online through email after purchase. There are many reputable companies that perform this form of transaction such as Offgamers.com amongst a few others. I have used this for the same wallet fund gifting purpose and never experienced any issues. They were delivered instantly (within 10 minutes) through my email.

Just make sure you do a background check on whoever you purchase them from so there aren't any issues. Especially if you decide to choose another distributor. With that being said, there are alot of people performing fraud this way so, stick to the legit sites that have a large and easily discoverable reputation.

Don't go for the ones offering them cheaper, these aren't games and the prices don't drop on Steam wallet credit codes very often (Unless they are usually purchased with another high value item in a sale).

Here are two examples below

Example #1: Buy a Gigabyte R290x ($499.99) and get a "free" $50 Steam wallet card*.

Example #2: Buy a Razer Ouroborus ($149.99) and get a "free" $20 Steam wallet card*.

Note: That even in my description of these examples there is an asterisk. Items or deals such as these are never actually free and you (The worldwide customer) are paying for them in the total cost overall (End of the fiscal year earnings).

The manufacturers and business of sales (i.e Amazon) are simply adding value to your purchase, while utilizing their partnership to increase sales while reducing overhead. Thus luring you in for a purcahse that you more than likely wouldn't have made otherwise.

Yet because of their partnerships and long term profit margin, they can provide options to the consumer that, many other digital outlets or small businesses simply cannot match.

Also note: I included prices in the above examples. Example #1 a Gigabyte R290x can be found on sale without anything free alongside for $429.99 and Example #2 Razer Ouroborus can easily be found for $119.99. Meaning the consumer gains nothing overall.

So ignore especially buying them from ebay which, are where many of these fraud companies or individuals operate. Otherwise you may get ripped off, as they always say if it's too good to be true it probrably is. So avoid anything sketchy.

Sorry for the overly long explanation but, considering I'm not sure how familiar you are with these types of transactions and the sensitivity of them. I felt that anything less would be a disservice.

Have a nice day and hope everything works out for you.
