Equiping Weapons in Garrys Mod

Ive been playing garrys mod for some time now and i dont know how to equip downloaded weapons from the steam workshop. i download the weapon mods and when i open my addons menu in game and click on a gun it just spawns on the ground. i dont know how to equip that gun so i can use it for myself. help is greatly apreciated.

go to weapons/ sweps tab in the q menu
