The warning is pretty clear, if it says you can only play the game in russia, it means you can only play it in russia. If it says only activation is locked to russia, that means only activation is locked to russia. The warning can't possibly be any more crystal clear than that.
Leaving RU after that.
So basically I can buy those RE games now (here in Russia) and not worry about being unable to play once back in Malaysia?
Read the disclaimer and warnings when you buy Russian version, it is quite clear in telling you which game you can or cannot be played outside of russia.
while RE5 and Revelations only has the "only added to libary if" disclaimer..
Can't see any disclaimer of any sort about RE4 on store page.
Steamdb on RE4 mentioned purchased restricted countries.
Steamdb on RE6 didn't mention anything about only run in countries though..
SteamDB also isn't affiliated with Valve. You're free to second guess the disclaimer, with a third party source of information, but if you get screwed, don't blame the disclaimer for not warning you.
Well I've sent a question to Steam Support about this,
hopefully it gets read and not get treated as spam by them..
Some publishers say you can only purchase the region locked games in the applicable region.
Others say they can only be activated in the applicable region
And others say they can only be played in the applicable region.
Any attempt to violate or bypass those restrictions can result in a permanent account lock.
