HOW I FIND THE STEAM FUNDING SYSTEM VERY DISFUNCTIONAL
THIS IS WHAT I FIGURED OUT WITH THEIR SYSTEM:
<READ THIS AREA FIRST>

1. The verification codes takes a minimum of a week to arrive sometimes less, sometime longer.

2. If you cant find it, ask your card company.

3. IT DOESNT WORK ON ALL TYPES OF CARDS/ BANKS!!. i dont know why it just doesnt. I live in the Australasian continent, i guess it doesnt work here.

4. Paypal could be a better option. ive met people that recieved the codes.

5. If all ends fail, ♥♥♥♥ it! we all know we arent gonna stop using it. just wait a week. You cant use the market but some games still allow you to buy items ingame. (e.g. CSGO i was still able to purchase keys and cases, as well as refund my wallet ingame to buy keys.)

Note:
This information is from reading other threads and asking other people for any advises. i apologise for any misinformation.

MY STORY -- date: 11 Sep 2014

couple minutes ago, i added some funds to my steam account worth $50 USD which is a lot more than the amount i usually top up with (usually $5 USD) then this showed up..

"You've recently funded your Steam Wallet using an unverified credit card that has had a recent increase in use. While the new funds are being verified, you'll be unable to use the Community Market. You can verify the funds now, or wait until the restriction is automatically removed on 9/16/2014 2:10:15 AM. Find out more in the FAQ."

trying to understand this process, i carried on and tried to verify my credit card details. Under the 2 amount authorization values, it doesn't say anything how i could find the codes besides

"(Contact your financial institution or access your account online to view the pending authorizations.)"

I've accessed my account online, i see the money has been deducted from my account, the visa transaction is on hold even though the money has already been deducted (which i find very interesting since it would usually have a name under

example of what i usually get:

Steamgames.C
(USD 5.00 @ 0.83)
(Incl Currency Conversion Charge - $0.16))

and there was no name whatsoever under the transaction.

STEAM please explain what is happening <-------- very politely asking for help

NOTE:

i would also appreciate it if this was gonna happen, please give us a pop up message saying these type of events may happen before we proceed into anything we may regret later.. ESPECIALLY before deducting the money!

It is a part of their fraud protection mechanism. Normally adding a new payment method triggers a 7 day cooldown. However you can lift the cooldown if you can prove the temporary charges that are added onto your payment method.

If you have any cards to be verified, it will show up here

I don;t believe there is a "code" to verify just the two amounts you were charged when attempting to verify your card.

You don't get a code. They authorise 2 small payments from your bank.

Eg:

Steamgames $50.00
Steamgames $0.12
Steamgames $0.10

And you confirm the smaller amounts as 0.12 / 0.10 that confirms that you have access to the account you are trying to load money from and authorises your card rather than waiting the 7 days. It could be that your bank isn't "live" or doesn't show authorisation requests.

Thanks KARR. atleast you gave me the idea of how it would look like, ive been just lookng around but still could not find anything that could possibly be the codes, i dont know if i would wait a little longer or if it will be there

So that I may get it straight, once you add funds to your account, Valve takes a small fee in order to check if the current payment method you're using is legal and your own? So that you may wait a whole week and if there were no reports made issuing your card, or putting the correct amount of cash taken could both prove currect ownership?

No, If you use a NEW payment method, you have the OPTION to verify that the payment method is legit if you DON'T WANT TO WAIT A WEEK to be able to use the funds on the COMMUNITY MARKET or TRADE . If you so CHOOSE to do this, your payment method will be TEMPORARILY charged to TWO SMALL AMOUNTS (usually less than $1). You then go onto your online statement or call your payment provider and find the two temp charges. Then you go back to Steam and enter the two amounts. If CORRECT your trade and market restrictions will be removed and the temp charges reversed. If INCORRECT , you have TWO MORE TRIES (for a total of 3) to correctly enter the amounts. If you still fail you will be UNABLE TO TRY AGAIN and MUST WAIT THE REST OF THE WEEK . The two small charges WILL STILL BE REVERSED .

You can read more about the system and restrictions in general in the following links:

The support reply time can be around two weeks and multiple tickets just slow it down. Using additional cards will just reset the cooldown.
look happen to me some cards cant be verified s o i wait until monday what happen its now 1 january WTF??

This has done this with my paypal account. The message is generally the same, except that it doesn't state that I can verify my account ahead of time and that I must wait 7 days. This is not right. I was not warned ahead of time that this would happen, I want to purchase some goods on CS:GO. They took the money out of my paypal account already but I can't use it. Also it's non-refundable. I'm pretty sure this goes against money transaction laws.

Is there a way to verify paypal accounts earlier?

^ I just got this message same as Panulo and it's retarded. Utterly freaking retarded.
