Game Download Times

Hello, im kinda new to Steam as a whole and just purchased a few games yesterday. My question to everyone is this. A couple of the games ive purchased are between 10 and 14 Gb in file size. My current download speed is aound 350-400 kbp/s. Peak sometimes jumps to 500 kbp/s. The games say approximately 7-8 hours or even longer till complete. Is this accurate and how can I download these games faster? Is their a better time to get on to download, another wa around it all? or is it just that it is what it is with my internet service? My internet service is just a normal verizon high speed service so i assume the standard 364 kbp/s speed (roundabouts) Ive changed the settings to no limit in the download restrictions and nothing else is using up bandwith and all virus scans/ security threats are up to date so its definitely not that. Plus its a brand new Alienware 17 laptop so I dont have anything stored on it just yet for the most part. Just thinking of what could be holding it back but maybe this is just the best that it can do. I just dont feel like waiting 8 hours for a game to download and i cant babysit my computer from kickin into sleep mode and stop downloading. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

get decent inernet? thats all you can do. you cant magically make your crappy internet download faster.

Well, then you might have problem. Maybe friend with faster internet, so you can download it there and copy it over to your box?

If you have 400kB/s download bandwidth it is imposible to download data faster than that speed. If you have better internet connestion from your provider, try check your router for maximum download speed..

Downloads resume if you start steam again.
