Headset Microphone Echo
My mic always echoes when I use it for steam. The people I play with hear their voices echoed back to them and when I test my microphone my voice echoes over and over getting louder each time. I am not sure if it is a problem with my audio drivers or what because even with my old microphone I had this problem. Now I am using a Turtle Beach Earforce X12 headset that works perfectly with my xbox. I am also running on Windows Xp 64 bit edition at the moment so I don't know if it's because of that.

Looked for new updates of your sound driver?
The problem is on your end, try updating all the drivers, maybe reinstalling steam. Use another voip software just to try it out.
using the headset, is the sound coming through the headset speakers or pc speakers?

Also, ensure you havent got stereo mix on your windows sound settings.
It's coming through my headset and it's not set to stereo mix
check this image, sorry it's in portuguese, I'm sure you'll figure it out

Of course. Go to Control Panel > Hardware And Sound > Sound, Click recording to the top of the Sound Panel and disable "What U Hear" (Right click "What U Hear" and click disable) Hope i helped!
