Check your PC with a virus scan (thats obviously). What you can do else, is you can check the startup section in your registry & start menu, WINDOWS+R (Run) and then type in "msconfig" in "programs" or startup" are all programs that are going to be started up if you start windows. There you can simply de-check the programs, you dont know. These wont start anymore, unless you click on the .exe . Hope that helped, sorry for my bad english ;)

You probably clicked some image link that was actually a masked redirection URL that led to a download parameter suffix enabled URL; like one ending with &dl=1 where dl is an acronym for download and 1 is binary code for enabled. IN SHORT: You were redirected to a website that downloaded a virus on your computer. You should run an antivirus & -malware scan on your computer, I'd advice Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ After that, register a Steam Support account at https://support.steampowered.com/register.php -> Create a Steam Support ticket at https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php Fill out the ticket similarly:
Step 1
What product are you having an issue with?
  • Steam
What type of problem are you having?
  • Account Issues
  • Hijacked or stolen account
Step 2
  • Subject: <Enter topic title, can be as something simple as 'Hijacked account'>
  • Your Question: <Enter what happened here; Steam Support can likely figure out from the mass more or less what happened, but information doesn't hurt.>
    1. Add attachment <for providing Proof of Ownership <- Clickable; if necessary>
Additional Information
Submit Question
Now wait 2-4 weeks; there's no official ETA - but that's how long it generally takes for them to respond right now.

To be double sure you're not infected do a virus and malware scan in Windows safe mode. Nothing can hide then.

It might be a program that got left in the Start-up when you uninstalled a program and Windows didn't manage to remove that entry correctly.
But you shouldn't see irreversible changes made by removing a program from startup.
So if it worries you remove it.

Yea this sounds like what i said before, the location probably legitimately doesn't exist, but still appears like it is because it didn't totally uninstall.
This is speculation however.

If nothing appeared doing an anti-virus and anti-malware scan in safe mode then you're probably safe.
