Turn off Hyper Threading/ Virtualiziation in BIOS

I'm trying to help people here and have only been met with skeptics and sarcasm. I am on an i7 3630 2.40ghz and GTX 660m.. I recently learned turning off "hyper threading" can often times improve video game performance, so I gave it a shot. I made it into the bios in the bowels of my ASUS G75VW and twice searched for "Hyper Threading", it was labelled "Virtualization" and turned it off. I went on back to Dying Light and fired it up and it made an incredible difference, now playing at 30-60fps outside and 60fps inside. I am now able to run it as well as Planetside 2 at 60fps out of battle, 30-60fps in battle.

I've went out of my way a little to try and help people, I was ready to buy a new computer, now this has been an amazing experience.

Give it a shot, you can turn it off and on with no risk to your hardware or software.

Try playing your favorite poorly optimized game with hyper threading/virutalization off!

I can understand why disabling hyperthreading would impact performance, but isn't virtualization for emulating other operating systems? For example my old Windows 7 PC used virtualization to run Windows XP, which some of my older games required. I might be mistaken though. Thanks for the tip.
