Two different Windows users in one computer?
I have 1 PC with two Windows accounts, and a single Steam account.

I just started playing Alien: Isolation and realized I had all the logs unlocked.
My brother played the game first, so I realized there's a folder with a "user ID" where all this data is saved.

How can I create separate user IDs for each Windows account, instead of sharing the same folder for both accounts?

The folder I'm talking about is in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\SOME8DIGITNUMBER

You don't share the Steam account, do you?

Some games incorrectly store save files in global locations, which means they are shared across accounts.

Steam is VERY bugged when multiple Windows accounts come into play; they even leak login data and settings to other accounts.

There's a way around that, an easy way. But before coming to that, using separate Steam accounts is a must.
But yes, Valve developers still think Windows is a single user system. And they seem not to care.

It's a single PC and a unique Steam account, there's nothing ilegal about that, if that's what you're suggesting.

I am suggesting that as long as you share the Steam account, the problem will persist.

Well I know that.

That's why I'm asking if there's a way to have separate user id folders per account.

No reason to create another Steam account for my brother and then buy the same game twice if it's the same PC.

Its not because of the windows accounts. Its because of the single steam account. Steam cloud is saving the data from your brother so when you play its his saved game. Just make your own account and use steam family sharing to play the game and get your own steam cloud. No need to buy the game again thank to family sharing. :D:

I forgot to mention that I don't have Steam Cloud enabled.

I didn't know you could setup Family Sharing on the same PC, I might give that a try.

I'm guessing you can't get achievements that way?

Each steam account gets their own achievements and saves.
