Error code: 138 failed to load web page. I need help.
I just got a new laptop and when i try to go to the steam store it sais: error code 138, failed to load web page. None off the games i installed work. I searched for 4 hours to find a fix. I've tried everyting, reinstalling, setting firewall settings,... None work! Does somebody know what to do?

I use windows 7
Here, take a look at this: http://techluminati.com/how-to-guides/error-105-how-to-fix-error-105-in-google-chrome/ it seems like you would need to change DNS server.

You changed the DNS severs to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4? in the IPv4 protocol on the network card?

Do you have to do it whit all the connections?

No, only the network card that you are using.

No nothing happend. Just like all the other methods i could find.
1. 1st on Ie or Chrome click on options
click connections tab and click lan
uncheck all and check "automatically detect settings"

( I tried this but didnt work.. but still try it)

2. I opened up my firewall settings
added chrome and Ie to exceptions and checked it

(Again didnt work..)

3. I uninstalled my expired norton 360 antivirus and scanner..
RESTART COMPUTER..

AND WEeehh.. Chrome started working again..
well I dont really know which will work..
but i really think its number 3.. because of norton..
but then again.. maybe you should just restart?..
but well wte.. My Chrome is working again..
Hope it helps you guys.. :)

If you have McAfee its actually trickier than expected.

1. Search McAfee in your search bar and go to your McAfee security center (you may have to make an account just do it with a junk email you have)
2. Click Web and Email Protection
3. Click Firewall
4. Click Program Permissions
5. Find Google Chrome and "Edit" the settings so its at "Full" (You may have to even add it to the list)
6. Press Okay if its there then X out and it'll work

I assume this works for other fire walls. You can't just go to the Firewall settings thats under control panel apparently :/

Hoped this helped! It helped me XD

But it's the steam app that doesn't work not chrome. Chrome works just fine.
