San Andreas, MTA help.

I have San Andreas that I bought off of steam. I also have MTA fmod for san andreas so i can play some multiplayer. I'm having trouble withe getting mta to work. I know be default steams version of san andreas isnt compatible with mta. so i have to downgrade and i did with this http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1952458 but its still not working. if someone could give me a step by step on how to i should get this to work id really appreciate it. btw as of now, SA and mta are uninstalled so i can start from scratch.
