Do you think this guy know´s what he actually talking?

So far i used AVAST Free Anti Virus + Register = (using it for about 5 years by now)

very good but has sometimes False Detections for Games, Trainers.
But it Acutally was the only one keeping away any Harm for my PC!

Panda free Anti Virus = (was testing on a fresh clean install Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimade, after 3 weeks system failture due to virus and java infections)

Never use this piece of crap!
I installed it because they told it was better than Avast,
but after installing it 1 week later i found out that my system crashed caused by Malware and Java virus (it just ignored JAVA right away when scanning even on hightest settings and scanning of all archives, containers etc)
it is the worst chioce in my experience i actually made since 12 years of PC using)

other Anti Virus were years ago used like Malewarebytes, Avira, Norton etc so far Avast was the only one for me that did what i needed an some like Avira has very high false Detection (only useful to none admin users maybe)

what do you guys use on your systems?
why do you use it and is it Free?
what do you need of n Anti virus?

I want overall Protection from them for Firefox, False Detections and Games.
I even got some bad points from Anti Virus like:
* Avast killing Game files when downloading from internet on unsecure hoster (but the games were not infected @ all)
* Avira posts tons of false detections to use..
* Malewarbytes had only self Scan and needed to buy to get Auto scanning and it even ignored some area of the system

Avast are the big front runners in Anti-virus protection.
Malwarebytes are the kings of Anti-Malware which you should run alongside your AV.
NoScript (to stop java scripts from auto running on unfamiliar websites), AdBlock Plus to block out any malicious adverts from running applications.
Up to date Java, Flash and latest Firefox browser update.

Done.

It's better to get a false positive detection rather than a virus. Avast does this frequently, but their detection rate is quite good.

thank you for the recommentions by now. i will try Comodo for now and if it is not the thing i can use i will again stick to avast and its bug of killing my games. like that i be @ least secured until i find out what is causing the killing of archive or files.

this is also the anti Virus from the guy in the linked thread. i will try that but dunno never used it but the guy was talking about HIPS securness in the thread. anyway i try comode free version.

well the problems lies within avast killing some files of a downloaded to my pc..
the false protection is so far oke...about 1 /10.000.000 searched files maybe.
still i cant escape the killing of downloads for games only if i deactivate avast as long as my download is going on my games will work when i try to install them after it. its like it makes the CRC of the Archive corrupted..

Firefox and http://noscript.net/ goes a long way.

You can always set Avast to ignore the file, if you believe it is safe, so that it doesn't kill your game.

Does the same i think i do..but the only chance is i set java to ask me for activations and not totally set it of. same goes for all lugins..like flash..nvidia 3d..divx..etc

Here begins the problem, avast is searching while downloading..
but it doesnt respond to me saying it found something..
it just delete the files..
i set to ask me but it ignores it..
but only when downloading games..
when downloading programm files like trainers it ask first and i can choose if i want to be sure to delete it from my HDD..

i cant install it..i had even remote acess...they could not answer me why it wont work. but it has something to do with using 64bit windows.. it opens the *32 bit executions..

it does block plugins like Java but mainly javascript which is a different thing. All new sites has JS disabled because you often don't need it. But if you do you can turn it on temporarily or permanently.
