Thanks to all for the clarifications BTW, very helpful. I'm still a bit undecided about buying a XB1 in case we end up in two different "player pools" (PC / XBox) for some games. I'd need to check carefully what types of multiplayer/co-op are allowed on XB before deciding which platform to buy it on.
The other reason I was thinking of buying an XBox (rather than PS4) though is the multimedia centre use - changing TV channel by voice and stuff, although the PS4 seems to have more games and better hardware at the moment MS seem to be doing more to develop the XB.
I also want the controllers to use to play Dark Souls on our PCs! :)
Is Family Sharing back? I can't see anything on Google in the last 6 months to say that it is.
