Xbox One 2 people 2 controllers 1 game - how many keys?
Hi

I've never used or seen a console, always done PC games so I'm a complete noob on consoles.

I'm thinking of buying an Xbox One but I can't see how it will work on digital games despite reading tons of Googled articles. Hope someone can help.

If me and my wife buy one Xbox One and...

Two controllers...

And we have 2 gamertag accounts on that X1...

Can we enter the same multiplayer / co-op game on the same console?

If we do, how many games / game codes or product keys etc will we need to pay for?

How will it look? Will there be a split screen so that we can each see our own character?

Be grateful for any info. TIA

I have an Xbox One, only one account needs Xbox Live Gold (the other account has family sharing so you don't need to buy 2 sets of Gold). Yes, some games do have split-screen online multiplayer (depends on which game, Call of Duty does). You only need to buy the game on one account, you don't need to buy it for both accounts, because of family sharing.

I thought Family Sharing had been stopped? That's just from Googling it though, so maybe I was reading old posts.

Thanks to all for the clarifications BTW, very helpful. I'm still a bit undecided about buying a XB1 in case we end up in two different "player pools" (PC / XBox) for some games. I'd need to check carefully what types of multiplayer/co-op are allowed on XB before deciding which platform to buy it on.

The other reason I was thinking of buying an XBox (rather than PS4) though is the multimedia centre use - changing TV channel by voice and stuff, although the PS4 seems to have more games and better hardware at the moment MS seem to be doing more to develop the XB.

I also want the controllers to use to play Dark Souls on our PCs! :)

OK I'll ask tis again as a shorter question:

Is Family Sharing back? I can't see anything on Google in the last 6 months to say that it is.
