In Valve's eyes, you were involved in attempting scams by intentionally delaying the commitment to a trade and risking the trade security of the trading partner.
Be glad it's not a trade ban.
Regardless of whether or not it's a violation it most likely can easily trip Steam's auto-moderation and flag you as trying to do RMT or trades outside of the Steam window both of which are going to have a high risk of getting you in trouble.
You even admitted in your other thread you've gotten scammed this way, you don't really need to wonder why that might possibly be against the rules to have in your profile. My advise is not to put that back on your profile again.
i said, you want an item from me, i'll let you have it for an item i'm looking for. simple as that, no forcing, only free will.
No matter what you wish to appeal or get around with, this form of trading is forbidden.
lets hear it.
Apparently the item in question can't be traded normally. But it doesn't change the fact that it's circumventing the normal trade window which is the only thing Steam officially supports and condones.
you need to be in game itself to send it. and i can't do that first because its a ''gift'' they can just walk away from me and not trade me the value. i have been walked off on before.
btw i went to that link you sent and it was really conveniently cut off the part that says ''only accept skin to skin trades, no outside payments or gift cards.''
anyways these people who want the caches seek me out, i'm not out there going and adding them. i explain them the dangers of gift trading before they even give me anything and they can choose to walk away. you want the thing? then theres a risk, if you're okay with the risk, then we're good to go.
The link that was sent is just a snapshot of your profile, I'm really surprised you never heard of Wayback Machine/Internet Archive. What the site does is in the name.
But anyway, I was able to view your entire profile and scroll through all of it.
As I said in my other post, you even said on your other thread you've gotten scammed by trying to trade these items because they cannot be traded normally. Is it really so hard to understand then why advertising it on your profile might not be a good idea?
And again, putting prices on your profile is not something I would do either, because that probably is more likely to get you auto-moderated as Support/Mods likely look for certain key words and phrases when reviewing profile reports.
yeah excuse me for not knowing these things. all iv'e been thinking is investing in loot boxes that don't come back and maybe some day someone will find value in them. just like csgo for example. i've got no effin clue about that extra nonsense.
if anything i've been doing community service by fueling the needs of those who missed those amazing hats. i mean they've been very happy. heck i confess i had 2 customers today and they're gona come back for more, i even gave them extra sets for being good sports.
i mean cmon this has been going on for 13 something years. surely they would of done something by now and maybe got rid of the entire gift function by now.
but yeah i guess i can see how my bio might of triggered a mod or something.
i'd just imagine they would do a full investigation before hitting you with something like this.
Knowing that their only source of obtainment is real money, it does definitely involve RMT (buying them to trade them over).
i buy a box 2015 for 3 bucks and simply sell it again 10 years later for what 10 bucks?
and all that is in skins within the game, no real money only steam.
its monopoly money, steam funds.
